Multi Discipline Climbing Course (1 Day)

Making the transition from indoor climbing to outdoor can be daunting, not knowing where to go, how to fix ropes or not owning the kit required. Well, we are here to help, our qualified instructors will give you a tour of some of the best climbing the peak district has to offer and allow you to climb at whatever grade you feel confident at. We will spend half the day on ropes and half the day bouldering.

• Outdoor ethics and environmental awareness: Introduce you to the ethics of outdoor climbing, the countryside code.
• Climbing techniques: Master basic climbing techniques such as handholds, body positioning, and balance to enhance your climbing abilities.
• Climbing Equipment: Talk you through different climbing equipment such as bouldering pads, belay devices, harnesses, ropes and guide books.
• Rope Work: Teach you how to tie into a rope, belaying a climber, coiling a rope and some other useful knots.
• Bouldering Safely: Effective spotting, and using bouldering pads.

This course welcomes individuals of all fitness levels and backgrounds who are interested in experiencing the exhilarating world of outdoor climbing.

No prior climbing experience is required; however, a moderate level of physical fitness and a willingness to challenge oneself are recommended.

Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a supervising adult.

• Outdoor clothing for all weather
• Food and drink

We will supply chalk, harnesses, helmets, ropes, belay devices and bouldering pads.

10am - 5pm evenly split between rope climbing and bouldering.
